Occupational Therapy

Untitled design (56).png

At Wildflowers, we believe that every child or teen deserves the opportunity to engage in activities that matter to them—whether it’s at home, at school, or in their everyday lives. Our Occupational Therapy team is dedicated to supporting your child’s journey towards independence and self-confidence, empowering them to fully participate in all aspects of daily living, especially the activities they enjoy most.

We understand that each individual is unique, which is why we focus on tailoring therapy to suit your child’s strengths, interests, and specific needs. Whether it's managing sensory overload, improving fine motor skills, or strengthening self-regulation abilities, we create a therapeutic plan that fosters growth and supports them where they are at.

Our highly skilled team continually invests time in professional development to provide the best, evidence-based care for your child. We also offer specialised assessments and therapy for primitive reflexes, which are essential in supporting a child’s developmental foundation and their ability to engage in everyday activities. Addressing primitive reflexes can be particularly helpful for children and teens who struggle with coordination, balance, or emotional regulation, helping them develop the skills necessary to thrive in all areas of life.

At Wildflowers, we reject the idea of fitting your child or teen into a standard approach. We focus on their individuality and work alongside them to build the skills they need to thrive. Whether it’s enhancing their social participation, managing sensory needs, or navigating daily challenges with confidence—we’re here to support every step of their journey.

With our compassionate, expert team, we offer a safe and inclusive space where your child or teen can truly flourish. We also provide flexibility with Telehealth appointments, allowing therapy to be accessible at times and places that work best for your family.

Wildflowers is here to help your child or teen bloom into their best, most authentic self.

No matter what challenges your child or teen is facing, our experienced Occupational Therapists are here to support, empower, and guide them every step of the way.

Step 1: Reach out to us

Getting started is easy—just give us a call, send an email, or reach out via our website. Our friendly team is here to answer any questions and help you figure out if our services are the right fit for you. If we’re not the best match, we’ll do our best to point you in the right direction with alternative provider recommendations.

We’re also happy to guide you through Medicare and NDIS funding options to make things as smooth as possible.

Step 2: We have a spot for you

Our clinicians work on a fortnightly schedule, meaning you’ll typically have the same appointment time every two weeks. If we have availability that suits you, we’ll lock it in. If not, you’re welcome to join our waitlist, and we’ll be upfront about expected wait times so you can decide what’s best for you.

Life gets busy, so we’ll send regular reminders to keep your appointments on track.

Step 3: Your first appointment

Feeling a bit nervous? That’s completely normal. Taking this step is big, and we acknowledge the courage it takes to reach out for support. We recommend checking out our website or instagram to get informed and excited about our space, especially if you have a child who is starting sessions with us.

For children and adolescents (under 17), the first session is always with a parent or guardian (unless otherwise discussed when booking). We believe in a collaborative approach, so parents/guardians may be invited to future sessions as part of the therapeutic journey.

Step 4: Regular sessions and finishing up

Everyone’s therapy journey looks different—some people work with us for a short time, while others need longer-term support. The number of sessions will be tailored to your needs and assessed in your initial appointment.

Whether we’re here for a few chapters or just one, we’ll keep things transparent and ensure you get the most out of your time with us.

Ready to book? Get in touch today—we’d love to support you on your journey.
