Learning and Education Assessment

Learning and Education Assessments

What is a Learning and Educational Assessment?

A learning and educational assessment provides deeper insight into your child's cognitive strengths and challenges in literacy and/or numeracy. If your child is facing persistent difficulties in school—particularly in reading, writing, or math—this assessment can help identify potential specific learning disorders such as:

  • Dyslexia (reading difficulties)

  • Dyscalculia (math difficulties)

  • Dysgraphia (writing difficulties)

Unlike intellectual disabilities, specific learning disorders impact targeted learning domains rather than overall cognitive functioning.

How is the Assessment Conducted?

Depending on age, we administer one of the following standardised cognitive assessments to understand general intellect:

  • WPPSI-IV (Wechsler Preschool and Primary Scale of Intelligence – Fourth Edition)

  • WISC-V (Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children – Fifth Edition)

  • WAIS-IV (Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale – Fourth Edition)

To assess proficiency levels in writing, spelling, reading, and mathematics, we also administer:

  • WIAT-III (Wechsler Individual Achievement Test – Third Edition)

Who is this Assessment For?

Consider a learning and educational assessment if your child experiences:

  • Discrepancies in performance, excelling in some areas but struggling in others

  • Difficulty grasping or retaining learning concepts

  • Avoidance behaviors related to learning in general or specific subjects

  • Challenges in spelling, reading, writing, mathematics, or comprehension

  • Additional support at school, such as being removed from the classroom for English or Math support

  • Concerns raised by teachers or school staff about learning progress

What You’ll Receive:

Following the assessment, we provide a comprehensive report with tailored recommendations to support your child's learning journey. This report can assist educators in understanding and addressing their unique learning needs, ensuring they receive the right support to thrive.
